BloXmove Franchise Taker Cookbook (Operational Manual)

INTRODUCTION

This cookbook will cover the necessary components and minimum required steps a Franchise Taker or Driver Community needs to take in order to operate a viable and sustainable mobility app in its target area or country. It will also address technical aspects at an operational level.

OPEN-SOURCE DRIVER AND PASSENGER APPS

The driver and passenger applications are open-source solutions provided by bloXmove to enable franchise takers to run their own mobility services. Upon provision of both applications by bloXmove, franchise takers are free to use the basic bloXmove app as their own, customizing it to fit their needs. These customizations may include changes to the UI and UX aspects of both applications. The driver and passengers applications are made available on android and ios platforms.

Installation Guide

This guide will walk you through how to set up a dev environment for the android and ios applications.

Setting Up Your Dev Environment

1. Configure React Native Development Environment for Android

   • Node (NPM) official guide
   • Yarn npm install --global yarn
   • Gitofficial guide
   • Install & Configure React Native by following this guide, the React Native CLI version. DO NOT USE Expo CLI!!
   • (Optional, but Recommended) Visual Studio Code
   • (Optional) Android Studio

2. Configure React Native Development Environment for iOS

Running on Android

To run our project on Android, simply follow these steps, in order:

• Plug in your Android device or open an emulator

  In order to run React Native apps on Android, you need an Android device or an emulator. If you have an Android phone or tablet, simply plug it in. You might need to enable USB debugging in Device Settings, under Developer Tools. Follow the official Android documentation if you run into any issues. Android emulators are bundled into Android Studio, so please install Android Studio, open it, go to Tools -> AVD Manager and start an emulator of your choosing:
